Haytham Academy is a tuition centre,founded by Sufyaan Altalib to address South Africa’s education crisis.
South Africa has one of the worst education systems in the world. The World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report 2017/18 ranks the quality of the country’s educationsystem 114th out of 137 countries and the quality of Maths and Science education as 128th out of 137 countries.
The name is derived from the 11thcentury polymath and Father of Optics ibn al-Haytham. Haytham Academy challenges it’s students to follow in the footsteps of the great achievements of the Islamic Golden Age.
